A+E Networks has signed top broadcasters around the world for its newest TV movie, “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.” The first broadcasters to acquire the two-hour TV movie include: Channel 5 (UK), TF1 (France), ATRES (Spain), SBS (Benelux), 7 Network (Australia), Sky (New Zealand), Corus Entertainment (English-speaking Canada), Lifetime (Latin America) and Lifetime (Asia). Produced for day-and-date delivery to broadcasters before the royal wedding, The two-hour special captures the highly publicized courtship between Britain’s beloved Prince Harry and stunningly talented divorcee, Meghan Markle. Nippon Television Network Corporation has welcomed anchor Erica Aoi as its first android employee. Aoi debuted live on the daily show PON!” on April 5, 2018. Erica (ERato Intelligent Conversational Android) Aoi (a combination of AI for artificial intelligence and Ø from “NIPPØN TV,” the corporate logo of Nippon TV) was born out of the first project between Osaka University, Kyoto University, and the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International’s Japan Science and Technology Agency Strategic Basic Research Programs. Their goal was to develop an autonomous robot that can live symbiotically with humans. With numerous experiments lined up, such as acquiring exquisite Japanese language skills, multilingual communication with people around the world, collecting and analyzing vast amounts of information within a short timeframe, and working nonstop for 24 hours, Aoi will aspire to achieve what only an android anchor can. She is already slated this spring to appear as an assistant in the “Sensors” segment of “Chill TV,” a program introducing digital trends, available on Nippon TV’s broadcasting satellite channel and online, as well as deliver the news in English on various online media.

Federation Entertainment has recently acquired the worldwide distribution rights to “Undercover,” a ten-part Flemish crime/thriller fiction-series. Inspired by several real life events, “Undercover” unites a group of unique, fictional characters amidst a backdrop of the Flanders province of Limburg’s growing reputation as a Mecca of synthetic drugs. One of the largest ecstasy producers in the world, Ferry Bouman, lives a charmed life in his chalet on the Dutch-Belgian border. But things start to change when two undercover agents move into his territory, attempt to infiltrate Bouman’s life and shut down his network. “Undercover” is produced by De Mensen, the largest independent audiovisual production company in Belgium. It is currently in postproduction, and is scheduled for delivery in 2019 (10 x 50’).

“Hell of a Trip” is a surprising travel show format where five participants set out on a journey to three countries. They will have amazing experiences, eat exotic food and visit amazing places. ZDF is offering a slate of new documentaries, including “The Story of Europe,” a ground-breaking series that tells the story of Europe by exploring different chapters of its eventful history. A journey through space and time, from the first physical beginnings to the first human settlers (6 x 50’).
